Unwins Round Beetroot Cardeal F1 Seeds produce high yields of beetroots. Rich in vitamins, this variety has a high sugar content and are delicious in summer salads. 

This variety produces globe shaped beets that are tolerant to downy mildew. 

  • Sow March to July for harvesting July to October
Sow: Mar to Jul
Harvest: Jul to Oct

Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly, direct into the required harvest position, 2.5 cm deep. Keep soil moist at all times to prevent roots from becoming dry and woody. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out to 10 cm apart.

Growing On
Use thinnings in baby leaf salads. Protect crops from frost or cold wind with fleece.

Aftercare
Beetroot can be lifted and stored in sand; ensure they are kept frost-free.
