Unwins Broccoli Burbank F1 Seeds produce a high-yielding, British-bred broccoli variety with good disease-resistance and an excellent source of nutrients.
The succulent, creamy-white spears are a valuable late-winter vegetable. These unique white broccoli spears are absolutely delicious and will make a fantastic interesting addition to a veg patch or allotment.
Harvest: Feb to Mar
Sowing Indoors
Sow two seeds 1.5 cm deep in each module of a tray filled with firm, pre-watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin to one per module.
Planting Out
Plant in the final position 30 cm apart, with 45 cm between rows, when plants have 3–4 true leaves.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow three seeds per station, 1.5 cm deep, directly into the soil bed, spaced 30 cm apart. Keep soil moist and protect from frost. Thin to one strong seedling per station once large enough to handle.
Growing On
Keep soil moist and weed-free. Harvest regularly to promote continuous cropping.
Aftercare
Use netting to protect from cabbage white butterfly and other pests.
