A short-handled version of our much-loved RHS-endorsed perennial spade. The short handle offers even more control than the original design, for greater precision and enhanced digging power.

Ideal for digging while kneeling, this short-handled perennial spade offers great grip and powerful digging if you like to get up close to your plants. It’s great for digging if you like to use a stab-down-and-scoop-towards technique, moving soil quickly and efficiently. This small perennial spade is also perfect for the task of splitting perennial plants. The pointed tip slices easily through roots to divide into new plants, with minimal disturbance to the rest of the roots and plant. It’s perfect to use with raised beds too, extending your reach to avoid working at an awkward height.

The stainless steel head slides easily through soil and is highly resistant to rust. For extra strength, the strapped socket is double riveted to the FSC hardwood shaft, creating a small-but-mighty digging tool.

Our short-handled perennial spade is endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society, perhaps the highest accolade in gardening. Like all our RHS-endorsed stainless steel tools, this small spade is covered by our lifetime guarantee.

Overall length: 42cm
Width: 13cm
Weight: 480g
