Unwins Cosmos Gazebo Mixed Seeds are one of the longest flowering annuals you can sow. The large blooms are in contrasting, complementary colours, in shades of reds, pinks and white.

Cosmos combine delicate foliage with showy blooms that are ideal for cutting. Loved by pollinators, these beautiful blooms will attract plenty of bees and butterflies to your garden.

  • Ferny foliage
  • Versatile flower for any planting scheme
Sow: March to April
Flowering: July to October

Sowing
Level fill a tray with seed compost, firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Scatter seeds thinly and lightly cover with vermiculite or a little more compost. Place in a propagator at 18–25 °C or cover the tray with cling film and leave in a warm room.

Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into small pots or module trays. Maintain a minimum temperature of 10 °C.

Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out in full sun once the risk of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants and water well until established.

Aftercare
Water regularly, especially during dry spells. Feed throughout the flowering season and deadhead faded blooms to encourage continuous flowering.
