Unwins Dahlia Pompon Mix Seeds are a bright mix for late summer colour. A lovely colourful mix of bright, pompom shaped dahlias, this seed mix adds a burst of sunshine into your garden.

Garden favourites, dahlias are popular especially because they keep the show going from mid-summer until early autumn as many other flowers are fading.

  • Provide long lasting cut flowers
  • Flower into late summer
Sow: February to April
Flowering: July to October

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in a warm position, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.

Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.

Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 45 cm between plants.

Aftercare
Dahlias can be prone to botrytis on foliage, so remove lower leaves regularly as required. Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming.
