Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in warmth (10–15 °C) and keep moist.
Growing On / Transplanting
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting out to cropping positions 60 cm apart during summer.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly in a shallow, pre-watered row. Lightly cover with soil and keep moist until seedlings are established.
Transplanting Outdoors
Once seedlings have produced about four true leaves, transplant to their final positions, allowing 60 cm each way between plants. Firm soil around plants and water well during dry spells.
