Unwins Bush Lobelia Crystal Palace Seeds produce attractive, deep blue flowers with a bronze-tinged foliage. This hardy annual flower has a long flowering season and looks appealing in pots and borders.
Lobelia can be sown indoors and outdoors and looks lovely planted amongst white alyssum.

Sow: January to March
Flowering: June to September
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and do not cover them. Place in the warmth, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. It is easier to transplant small clumps of Lobelia seedlings than to try and transplant single seedlings.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow 15 cm between plants.
Advice
When planting into the final growing position, do not separate the clumps of seedlings. Lobelia looks best planted en masse.
