Unwins Californian Poppy Frilled Rose Seeds produce a beautiful hardy annual. This extremely pretty poppy variety will fill your space with pink, blush and white petaled flowers with bright yellow centres.
They are very easy to grow, and you'll be rewarded with semi-double flowers that even thrive in poor soils! Poppy Frilled Rose are pretty happy in dry and hot summers and are naturally free flowering.
Flowering / Sow Outdoors: Jun to Sep
Sowing Outdoors
Rake soil to provide a firm, even surface. Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered soil, lightly covering them with a little more soil. Keep moist until seedlings appear and water as required in dry spells. Late summer and autumn sown seedlings may benefit from cloche or fleece protection when hard frosts threaten.
Thinning
When large enough to handle, thin seedlings to allow their development and to prevent overcrowding.
Advice
Summer/autumn sowings will start to bloom earlier the following year than seeds sown in spring. Always sow Californian Poppies direct, as they do not transplant well.
