Unwins Lamb's Leaves Lettuce Elan Seeds make a great winter salad. This lettuce has a distinctive tangy flavour.

These small teardrop shaped leaves can be picked as required, and harvested all year round.

  • Harvest whole head or pick leaves as required
Sow: March to October
Harvest: All year round

Sowing Indoors
Sow thinly 1 cm deep in trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost and cover lightly if desired. Place in a warm spot at 10–15 °C and keep moist at all times.

Planting Out / Sowing Outdoors
After the risk of frost has passed and seedlings have 3–4 true leaves, plant into the harvest position 25 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows. Alternatively, sow thinly 1 cm deep directly in the harvest location, keeping soil moist and thinning to 25 cm apart.

Advice
Keep well watered. Small sowings every 3 weeks will ensure a continuous supply. Use netting to protect from birds and insects.
